Mentors
We’re recruiting for 2024-2025!
The first step is signing up. Then, after passing our background check and attending a 1-2 hour mentor orientation in mid to late September, you’ll be ready to mentor! We pair our mentors with middle or high school students, to guide students as they embark on their scientific research projects. In-person mentors are assigned to a middle school in late September and students are paired during the first day. Virtual mentors are assigned a high school student and co-mentor to work with, as needed.
Time commitment: ~1-2 hours every week/biweekly, starting early October until the STEM Fair in early March.
In-person mentors work with middle school students after school from 3:15 pm-5:15 pm. Depending on the school, mentors and students meet either weekly or biweekly, for 2 hours. Each after school program is overseen by a teacher contact, who is a great resource for working with middle school aged children. *Must be able to commute to schools in Rochester, MN as needed. Oraculi can assist with transportation if needed, just ask us how.
Virtual mentors meet with high school students and a co-mentor for about 1 hour a week, but have more scheduling flexibility.
Oraculi has developed a thorough curriculum to guide our students and mentors, among other resources. Our team offers constant support and troubleshooting. We are happy to answer any questions you may have. Contact us today!
